PE

We have a lot of energy and enthusiasm for sports at Beckfoot Allerton Primary School. Through Physical Education and sport we aim to improve fitness, health and well-being; promote active participation and lifelong learning and allow each child to fulfil their potential.

We use our extra Sports Premium funding to enhance provision by:

Employing a qualified coach to:

• work alongside teachers in lessons to increase their subject knowledge and confidence in PE
• increase the provision of after-school sport on the school site so that more pupils can access a range of sporting activities. We currently run over 24 clubs per week.

Our pupils love the inter-school sports competitions and participate in these regularly.

We are able to provide extra facilities within our school grounds to encourage our children to be more active and adventurous, and the funding allows us to improve specialist teaching in areas such as Forest Schools activities and outdoor learning. We monitor our attendance and performance levels to enable us to demonstrate improved confidence and ability in our children. The impact of enjoyment of sporting activities is also shown in our attendance levels for school and attention levels in classes.
