Curriculum visits are a big part of life at Beckfoot Allerton, We enjoy them, we learn so much when we are out and we build on them back in school in our lessons. Year 6 have been to Ingleborough Hall in North Yorkshire building their geography learning and many team building outdoor skills. Year 5 will go to Temple Newsam and Year 4 have been to the Industrial Museum where they had an amazing lesson in a Victorian Classroom and took part in a wool weaving workshop - all these experiences built their understanding of what it was like to be a Victorian. Year 3 have met their Schools Linking Partners from Shibden Head Primary at Nell Bank Outdoor Centre - orienteering, walking in the woods and lots of shared games and problem solving were all ways to get to know one another. Year 2 went out and about to map Allerton. As part of this work they went to the Cenotaph in Lady Hill Park. Seasonal walks are part of Year 1 life and Science - they've enjoyed their Autumn and Winter walks so far. Year 1 have also had their annual visit to Igloolik! The hall is set up as an aeroplane and they imagine they are on an aeroplane going on a trip.
Everyone is looking forward to their curriculum visits over the Spring and Summer Terms. Year 1 will enjoy their seasonal walks in Allerton and then will go to Filey for their seaside theme. Year 2 will go to the Yorkshire Wildlife Park as part of their learning about Endangered Animals. Year 3 will go to Danelaw Roman Village for their Romans Theme. Year 4 will visit their link school and also go to Nell Bank for their residential. Year 5 will go to Eden Camp and Year 6 will have transition visits in June and July.
