Please see below for the draft PSHE (Personal, Social, Health and Economic Education) and RSE (Relationship and Sex Education) Policy. Feedback is welcome at firstname.lastname@example.org.
The purpose of the Policy is to set out the overriding aims and guiding principles for the teaching of PSHE at Beckfoot Allerton. The PSHE does not include a detailed curriculum map or information about specific resources that will be used to support teaching.
We take our responsibility to safeguard pupils and to support their holistic development very seriously. We want all children to leave our school well prepared for life in modern, diverse Britain.
Families will be aware that from September 2020 Relationships Education will be mandatory for all schools. Beckfoot Allerton has a strong and inclusive PSHE curriculum which has been developed over the course of many years and is aligned to our SCARF values. We do not envisage, during this academic year, changing the content of our PSHE curriculum.
We look forward to meeting with families during the Summer Term to share more information about the curriculum map and subject content and the resources we currently use to support teaching in PSHE lessons.
