Monday 11th February
Mr Kearsley and Mrs McHale accompanied 12 children from Y6 to Bradford Girls' Grammar School to compete in a hockey tournament against other schools in West Bradford. The children were split into 2 teams of 6 and played in 4-a-side games against 3 other schools in their own groups. Both teams progressed to the quarter finals after finishing in 1st and 2nd place in their respective group. Winning 1, drawing 1 and losing 1, Beckfoot Allerton 'A' were knocked out 2-1 in a tight quarter-final against Princeville. Well done to Eesah, Eesah, Ibrahim, Avah, Sienna and Diya who were unfortunate not to progress further. Beckfoot Allerton 'B' managed to go all the way to the final, not losing a game on their route there. In a very tense final, Girlington came out on top 2-1, which meant Beckfoot Allerton took 2nd place on the night and booked their place at the Bradford Schools Winter Games. Well done to: Eessa, Umair, Sime, Leigha, Amber and Aqsa on a fantastic achievement.
Friday 8th February
This weeks after-school 'Fixture Friday' was mini-Tennis for children in Year 4 & Year 5. 18 children competed in 2 groups of 9 players across 4 courts. Some excellent skills on display during lots of very competitive fixtures. Even more impressive was the children's umpiring when they weren't playing, which allowed the games to run smoothly and fairly.
Well done to Group 1 winner Alisha who won all her 6 games and runner-up, Juveria who won all her 5 games.
Group 2 was won by Maha and Narmina who both played 5 games, winning 4 and losing 1. Jayden finished as runner-up, playing 6, winning 4 and losing 2.
Brilliant work from everyone who got involved. Watch out for more 'Fixture Friday' announcements for next half-term....coming soon!

Tuesday 5th February
On Tuesday 5th February, Mr Kearsley & Miss Dibb accompanied 10 children from Y6 to Beckfoot Thornton where they competed against 6 other schools in a Tri-Golf tournament. Within the sports hall, children rotated round 8 stations testing a range of different shots that would be played during a game of golf, gaining points for their efforts that contributed to an overall team total for the leader board. On completion of all stations, Beckfoot Allerton were announced as winners on the night - with all children taking home a gold medal. Well done to: Ayaan, Subhan, Eessa, Dylan, Rayyaan, Ruqaiyah, Ruby, Rayya, Tegan and Sana.
Friday 1st February
Friday 1st February saw children in Year 5 and 6 take part in a hockey tournament in our hall in this week's 'Fixture Friday'. The 34 children made up 7 mixed teams that competed against each other across 6 fixtures. The green team were this week's winners: winning 4, drawing 1 and losing 1. Well done to Amber, Maryam, Zain, Sime and Umair! Well done to all children who showed a range of physical and inter-personal skills to make it a great after-school event, not letting the snow outside stop them!
Our next Fixture Friday will be on 8th February when children from Year 4 and 5 will be taking part in a mini-tennis competition.
Tuesday 15th January
On Tuesday 15th January, Mr Kearsley and Mr Bird accompanied 8 children to Grange College Campus to compete against local schools in the West Bradford Table Tennis Competition. A high number of fantastic players were on show from all schools making it a very competitive tournament. Children were in two teams of 4 playing individual games that contributed to an overall team score. A huge well done to our two teams who finished in very respectable positions, where our 'Red Team' finished as winners on the night.
Well done to: Elisha, Sime, John & Umair who made up the 'Red Team' and Ibrahim, Madihah, Jayden and Rayyan who made up the 'Blue Team'.
Friday 18th January
On Friday 18th January, we held our first 'Fixture Friday' event in school. We plan on holding a number of one off events for our children to take part in across the remainder of the year. Our first sport was Dodgeball and we had an amazing turn out of 64 children from across Years 4 to 6! This allowed us to have ten teams competing.
Our winners in Group A were: Aaqila, Eesah, Hassan, Sumiya, Liana and Gabriel
Our winners in Group B were: Eesah, Khadija, Niamh, Alishba, Fatima and Aminah.
Out next Fixture Friday will be taking place on 1st February. The sport will be unihoc.
